AoA sensor/indicator in a nutshell:
The sensor uses a little wind vane connected to a rotary encoder to read the angle of the relative wind against your airplane. The rotary encoder is connected to an Arduino device which is, in turn, connected to an Android device via Bluetooth. An app on the Android device uses the data collected from the sensor to graphically depict how near you are to stalling. While it can't be used as a primary instrument for flight, if calibrated correctly it can definitely add situational awareness to the cockpit.
